2021 MAPS AGM

The Mature Age and Part-time Students Association 2021 Annual General Meeting will be held at 3pm on Friday 15 October on Zoom. Zoom details will be provided on the Monash Student Association website closer to the AGM. The main items for business at the AGM will be the election of the new Mature Age and Part-time Students Association (MAPS) Executive Committee and consideration of a new constitution.

MAPS Elections

Nominations will open at 9.00am 24 September 2021 for the following positions on the MAPS Executive Committee:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Treasurer/Secretary
  • Social Secretary
  • Publicity Officer**
  • Two (2) General Committee Members**

** Note: Prospective candidates should be aware that the proposed new constitution will reduce the MAPS committee size from seven positions to four, abolishing the publicity officer and two general committee member positions. This means that any candidates elected to a position that is subsequently abolished will no longer hold that position. More information on the proposed amendments can be found on the Monash Student Association website.

Nominations will close at 5.00pm 3 October 2021. Nomination forms can be accessed on this webpage or by emailing the MAPS Returning Officer. Completed nomination forms are to be emailed to the MAPS Returning Officer by the deadline indicated above. No late submissions will be accepted.

Eligibility

To be eligible to nominate and vote in the MAPS 2021 AGM students must be enrolled as an undergraduate mature age, part-time or distance education student at Clayton campus, as per section 8.1 of the MAPS Constitution (Sep 2017) below:

  • 8.1 … mature age, part-time and distance education student means any undergraduate student currently enrolled at Monash University, Clayton campus who is either:
    • 8.1.1 A currently enrolled Monash University Clayton campus based undergraduate student who is mature aged, i.e. age 23 years or over;
    • 8.1.2 Part-time, i.e. a student of any age who is enrolled in 12 points or less worth of Monash University, Clayton campus based undergraduate units; or
    • 8.1.3 An undergraduate student of any age currently enrolled at Monash University, Clayton campus via distance education
