MUST’s upcoming production “Dirty Words” is performing as part of the 2017 Melbourne Fringe Festival, in the Festival HUB in North Melbourne so all ticketing is via their web site or via phone with them, but we’ll still need to get info on the MUST homepage and let anyone who comes to the MSA desk know how to book and that it’s in North Melbourne, not on Campus.

Direction and Original Music by Tara Dowler

“Wash your mouth out young Australia, you’ve never had it so good.”

A new, politically-charged rock cabaret created by Tara Dowler (Pink Flappy Bits) and team, presented by Monash Uni Student Theatre.

Dirty Words ‘talks back’ against the damaging rhetoric of fear and exclusion emerging in Australia and demands greater accountability from those in power, understanding that ‘speaking up’ for our future is not just a right, it’s a responsibility.

Combining the raw energy of rock, the intimacy of cabaret and a touch of circus art, eight diverse, young artists will share stories, shake off expectations and uncover the ways in which the personal and the political merge in their everyday lives. A collaboration between cast and creators, interwoven with scintillating original music, Dirty Words explores how we find our voices in an increasingly divisive world; the conflicts that shape us and the communities we build that give us strength.
