About Volunteering

The MSA Student Volunteer Reward Program specifically pertains to student volunteers and will allow them the opportunity to gain reward points for undertaking voluntary work or roles within MSA, either on a part-time or casual basis. The reward points can then be redeemed for a range of MSA vouchers. Eligible volunteers can also be awarded certificates that

formally recognise their voluntary contribution. There are three main types of work or roles for which students are eligible to earn reward points and certification, namely Tasks, Positions and Committee / Collective Membership. This eligibility also extends to volunteers who provide articles and visual media that are published in Lot’s Wife.

Reward Points

Volunteer points are then converted to MSA Vouchers. Vouchers can be used at Sir Johns Bar, Wholefoods restaurant & Cafe, MSA Ticketed Events, MSA Training & Professional Development, MUST Theatre Tickets and the MSA Bike Shop. Rewards can be collected from the SURLY Front Desk (L1, Building 10, Monash University, Clayton).

All volunteers who accumulate over 30 points will be rewarded with a ‘Volunteer Program Certificate’ signed by the Volunteer Coordinator.

At the end of each year, the volunteer who accumulates the most points will be rewarded with ‘The MSA Volunteer of the Year Reward’. This volunteer will be given a ‘Volunteer Program Certificate’ signed by the MSA president, a $100 MSA Voucher and an MSA card for the following year.

Note: You can collect your points at any time of the year up until the end of November. After this time, volunteer points are reset and volunteers must apply to be a MSA Volunteer for the following year.
